Alexandre-Jean Noël

Alexandre-Jean Noël was a French painter known for landscapes, coastal scenes, and views made on his travels. Born in 1752, he journeyed widely, including a voyage that took him to South America and other distant places, and he brought back drawings and paintings of the ports and shores he saw. He worked in a clear, topographical style popular in the eighteenth century.
