Stanley Whitney

Stanley Whitney is an American abstract painter known for his radiant grids of color. Born in Philadelphia in 1946, he spent decades developing his signature approach, loose blocks and bands of color stacked across a square canvas, separated by uneven lines. Though the structure stays constant, the colors change endlessly, creating a sense of rhythm often compared to jazz and music.
